Self-regulation

Prowise and the 21st century skills

Purpose

  • Looking after yourself independently and assuming responsibility for your actions while taking your own capabilities into account (focused and appropriate behaviour, for example)

Students must assume responsibility for what they do and the choices they make. The need to keep their own goals, motives and capacities in mind, as well as the consequences of the path they follow. They are expected to demonstrate focused and appropriate behaviour. Notwithstanding each and every digital stimulus, they need to be able to work conscientiously and diligently.
Self-regulation ensures more efficient learning, because the student can better structure the material at hand and is more conscious of the learning process.

In Presenter, students can determine their learning objectives and then make a plan as to how to achieve their goal. They can review that plan at school as well as from home. Once the mission has been accomplished, evaluation of the learning process can begin.
