Purpose

  • Raise awareness regarding sustainable development
  • Students will learn about how biodiversity is vital for the planet
  • Students will understand the impact of deforestation
  • Students can discover how as individuals they can connect with their local habitats

This lesson focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 15 - Life on land. 

It looks at the steps we need to implement if we want to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. The lessons include the key information including targets, videos and additional resource links.

Activities include deforestation, palm oil, biodiversity and a link to a UN article. To conclude there are two assignments covering science and art & design.
