Purpose

  • Raise awareness regarding sustainable development
  • Students will learn about how human activity contributes towards the changes in the ocean
  • Students will understand the impact of plastic pollution below and above water
  • Students can discover how as individuals they help protect the seas

This lesson focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 14 - Life below water. It looks at the steps we need to adopt if we want to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. The lessons include the key information including targets, videos and additional resource links.

Activities include research into turtles, a ‘how deep do they dive’ activity, a nurdle investigation and a link to a UN article. To conclude there are three assignments covering science, geography and citizenship.
