Purpose

  • Place a number on the number line
  • Gaining insight in the number structure
  • Solving mathematical problems.
  • Doing calculations by using simple strategies: changing, almost doubling, reshaping, compensating and threading

Calculate additions and subtractions with jumps on the number line. Utilise various calculation strategies: changing, almost doubling, reshaping, compensating and threading.

Press the cursor button in the toolbar to control the tool. Adjust the tool settings with the settings button. For instance, you can adjust the range of the number line.

Select the line above the number. The line turns yellow and has now been activated. Jump to the left or right by clicking on one of the lines above a different number. A yellow line is now visible and this number has now been activated.

The arrow line will be green if you jump to the right on the number line.

The arrow line will be red if you jump to the left on the number line.

Click on the eye icon to hide the number corresponding to size of the jump, and click on the icon again to reveal it.
